How we got started:

My mother was a home crafter making quilts and crocheting washcloths and hand towels while I was growing up. My daughter in law crochets, make crystal necklaces, gift baskets and more. My oldest brother makes wire jewelry as a way to relax. My friends crochet, knit, quilt, burn and oil wood and just about everything else you can think of!

When the economy wobbled and the job market softened, I started thinking of ways I could help those closest to me. The idea fairy came to me in the shower one day with an idea: They needed an art dealer but for their crafts.

And I knew I could be their craft dealer.

Shortly after My Craft Dealer launched, Sandi came on board as a full partner with the passion to create and drive Tinker City! Tinker City is where crafters can go to hone their skills and connect with the craft community in a fresh environment. Whether you are a beginner tinkerer, a seasoned Maker or expert Creator, Tinker City is for you!

I am Emilie Becker. I live in Utah. I am not a crafter. I am not an artist. I am a mother of three wonderful sons. I have a long professional history in the insurance industry. I value honesty, transparency and compassion.

I am a huge fan of the Utah Warriors (professional rugby) and West Ham United (premier league European soccer).

I have a passion for helping people. I created this business to become a trusted marketplace for high-quality, unique artisan goods while supporting the passion of home crafters.

Sandi Searcy joined My Craft Dealer as the creator that helped inspire the company. She provides a much-needed balance of creativity and perspective to balance Emilie's business drive. The ying to Emilie's yang, together we are building together.

Sandi Searcy started as part of the inspiration for Emilie then agreed to become a partner to bring My Craft Dealer and Tinker City to life!

While Sandi is a passionate crafter, she is a mom of the sweetest little redhead we know, a wife to one of the smartest database engineers around, and a business analyst at heart.

Sandi also goes by A Mused Maker as an expression of her craftier side.

Sandi has a brain that functions like nothing you have seen! She asks the hard questions, looks for functional solutions and has a brave streak that puts William Wallace (aka Braveheart) to shame!
