8 Billion People

It seems that everyone, everywhere, talks a BIG game about being authentic.  It’s in marketing training and books to be authentic to your brand.  But at the same time, if you are not similar to what people expect, then you are labeled these extreme words that seem to be popular these days.  ‘Radical’, ‘extreme’, ‘activist’ and more.  These words get caught up in algorithms and breed like bunnies to the extent that the plot is lost. 

So, how do you stay authentically you without the extremism that permeates our culture? 

A very long time ago, I made decisions in my life that I was not proud of to fit in.  I compromised my authenticity and soul.  The wake-up call came one morning when I didn’t want to look at myself in the mirror while putting on makeup.  I decided that day and every day after that I will only make decision that allowed myself to look deep into my eyes in the mirror and be proud.

Being authentic can make it so that some people do not want to be around you.  Some folks will not buy your products, and some folks will walk away from you.  There are over 8 BILLION people in the world.  I think I am okay with not vibing with everyone.  I am confident that there are people out there that will like what we are doing here, and I am equally confident there are people out there that will not like what we are doing here. 

I encourage you to be you, authentically you.  Be the person that is proud to look deep into your eyes in the mirror and love who is looking back at you.  If our vibe is not for you, I send you love and peace.  You will find a place that resonates with you.
